The Kia EV6 has been launched in India for the rear-wheel-drive at Rs 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The all-wheel-drive unit will cost Rs 64.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
A limited number of electric vehicles are available, currently only 100, and will be available to customers by September 2022. The company has received a total of 355 bookings for the Kia EV6. The car is sold in India under the name CBU.
Bookings for the Kia EV6 will begin on May 26 in 13 selected cities and 15 dealerships. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. It can be booked for Rs 3 lakh.
The Kia EV6 uses Hyundai’s EV platform e-GMP, an electric-global modular platform. The electric car is expected to use a 77 kWh battery pack and a range of about 528 km on a single charge. The company claims that the Kia EV6 can reach speeds of 0-100 km / h in 5.2 seconds.
Kia EV6 is available in GT and GT-line with all-wheel drive. The GT variant can produce 229 hp at 350 Nm of peak torque, whereas the GT-Line is expected to produce 347 hp at 605 Nm of peak torque.
The Kia EV6 has an 800-volt ultra-fast charging capability, charging 10-80 percent in 18 minutes with a 350-kW charger. For the convenience of customers, Kia will install 150kW chargers in all these connected EV dealerships.
The EV6 comes with a smart charger capable of providing a maximum power output of up to 22Kw to all customers, and it can be installed anywhere.
The EV6 comes with a three-year warranty, unlimited kilometers, and eight years / 160,000 kilometers of extra battery coverage. For added convenience, the company will provide 24 by seven roadside support nationwide for three years.
The EV6 will be available in Munscape, Snow-White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue.
It comes with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system (with selected trim), panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, forward collision avoidance assistance, lane keep assist, and more than 60 integrated features.
The Kia EV6 has received a 5-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP.
Kia India is also evaluating other EVs in the Indian market and has confirmed plans to develop India-centric EVs across the RV body type by 2025. Globally, Kia plans to expand its BEV line-up to 14 models by 2027.
